البراء بن مالك أخو أنس بن مالك، خادم الرسول ، وقد أخبره النبي بأنه مستجاب الدعوة، وكان شعاره دوما (الله والجنة)، لذا كان يقاتل المشركين ليس من أجل النصر فحسب وإنما من أجل الشهادة، أتى بعض إخوانه يعودونه فقرأ وجوههم ثم قال: (لعلكم ترهبون أن أموت على فراشي، لا والله، لن يحرمني ربي الشهادة).
