يقول مؤلف هذا الكتاب، جامع الأحاديث، محمد ياسين بن محمد عيسى الفاداني المكي أنه قام بدراسة الكتب الحديثية السبعة المشهورة (1-كتاب الجامع الصحيح للإمام البخاري، 2-كتاب الصحيح بنقل العدل عن العدل للإمام مسلم، 3-كتاب السنن للإمام أبي داود،4-كتاب الجامع الكبير للإمام الترمذي، 5-كتاب السنن الصغرى المسماة بالمجتبى أو المجتنى للإمام النسائي، 6-كتاب السنن للإمام ابن ماجه، 7-كتاب الموطأ للإمام مالك) وجملة من كتب السيد والشمائل مع جماعة من طلبة العلم الشريف ببلد الله الحرام لسندات تزيد على 13 سنة، وأبدى من هؤلاء الطلبة رغبتهم الصادقة في أن يكون في تناول أيديهم كتاباً في أسانيد الفاداني الملكية لتلك الكتب؛ علماً منهم بميزتها ورغبة في أحيائها، ونشرها في بلادهم إذا عادوا إليها، وحيث رأى الفاداني فيهم الأهلية، أجابهم إلى ما رغبوا لصالح دعواتهم وذلك من خلال هذا الكتاب.
ومؤلف هذا الكتاب هو الشيخ أبو الفيض علم الدين محمد ياسين بن محمد عيسى الفاداني المكي - الشيخ المحدث الذي ما زال يمشي على طريقة السلف الصالح من المحدثين والرواة في تلقي العلم وتلقينه في يومنا هذا، في شتى أنحاء العالم الإسلامي الكبير. فهو العلامة المحدث المتفنن الرواية مسند الحجاز؛ بل مسند العصر أو مسند الدنيا على الإطلاق، الذي أفنى حياته في السماع والتلقي والمكاتبة.
والفاداني نسبة إلى فادان، أو بادان: إقليم في أندونيسيا، فهو الأندونيسي أصلاً، المكي ولادة ونشأة، الشافعي: ولد بمكة المكرمة في سنة 1335هـ. وكان ابتداء تحصيله العلوم على والده الشيخ المعمر محمد عيسى الفاداني، وعمه الشيخ محمد الفاداني، ثم التحق بالمدرسة الصولتية الهندية، فكان يتلقى فيها العلوم بالإضافة إلى ملازمته حلقات الدرس بالمسجد الحرام، ثم أتم دراسته بدار العلوم الدينية بعد إنشائها. وقد منّ الله عليه بتدريس شتى العلوم بالمسجد الحرام ومدار العلوم الدينية بمكة المكرمة، وخصص أخيراً لتدريس الحديث الشريف وعلومه، كما أنه اعتاد اقراء كتاب من الكتب الحديثية السبعة قيامه في شهر رمضان من كل عام لمدة تزيد على 15 عام، وللشيخ اعتناء تام بفن الرواية تحصيلاً واستحضاراً وتحقيقاً نادر المثال.
