ففي السنوات العجاف كان صوت الخطيب - لا سيما في العراق - يمثل حلقة الوصل المتينة التي تربط الموالين والأحبة بأئمتهم وتبين لهم تعاليم أهل البيت عليهم السلام حيث لم يكن بمقدور العلماء الحركة والوصول إلى الجمهور إذ كان تكليفهم العمل من وراء الحجب والجدران المراقبة لإيصال أحكام الشريعة وتبيين العقائد الإسلامية الحقة.
