حين أخذت أقلب "مسودات" هذا الكتاب عن التوأمين- مصطفى وعلى- كانت أول ملاحظة خطرت لى هى: أيجوز لأحد أن يؤرخ هاتين الشخصيتين وهما فى "سن الربيع"؟.... ألدى المؤرخ المواد الكافية التى تملأ الصفحات؟ ماذا بقى للفصول الثلاثة الأخرى: الصيف, والشتاء, والخريف؟
ولكنى حين استرسلت فى التلاوة, أخذت أجرع موردا بعد مورد, ومادة بعد مادة, وواقعة بعد واقعة... وأزمة بعد أزمة!.. وأخذت ألتهم لذة بعد لذة, ومتعة بعد متعة, وطرفة بعد طرفة, واثارة بعد اثارة...
وأخذت أنتقل من تحليل فيه وفاء وولاء, إلى تحليل فيه نقد وغمز دون نفاق أو التواء.. الى تحليل فيه كشف ونشر وجلاء.. لم يكن اعجابى- بعد ذلك- بالتوأمين والشخصيتين, والصحفى, بطلى القصة, بأكثر من اعجابى "بالمؤلف" و "المحلل" و "المسجل" فى أمانة وشجاعة التأليف والتحليل والتسجيل...
وقل ما شئت فى "الآخوين" أو دعهما وقل ما شئت فى أسلوب فنهما, ولكنى اعترف بشئ واحد.. انهما "كصحفيين" قد ظفرا بالاعجاب. والاعجاب بالشر اعجاب. وبالخير اعجاب. والبراعة فى أن يجمع "التوأمان" بين اعجاب المؤيدين المحبين واعجاب الناقدين الكارهين. ذلك هو "اللغز" أو ذلك هو "النجاح"...
وبعد... فما هذا الصرح الشاهق الذى ارتفع صوب السماء, وفى سرعة البرق, ولمح البصر؟؟ وما هذا "الاندلاع" داخل الحدود, وخارج الحدود؟ وما هذا "الدوى" الذى ملأ عالم الصحافة ضجيجا؟ وما هذا "المجد" الذى أضاف الى أمجاد الصحافة المصرية, مجدا جديدا, طريفا, فيه قوة وفيه عنفوان؟. انه.. "الايمان"!!! وحسب "التوأمين" الزميلين الصديقين هذا, وكفى... وللمؤلف "قبلة حارة" يستحقها عن جدارة واستحقاق...
