يتناول هذا الكتاب الشاعر (عمر أبو ريشة) من جانبين يعرض في الأوّل سيرته بشيء من التفصيل وعلى نحو علمي منهجي لأوّل مرّة، فيدقق عدداً من القضايا الفكرية والفنيّة التي تداخلت في كتب ودراسة عنه وتعريفات في شبكة المعلومات العالمية باللغة العربية والأجنبية، ويجد القارئ صورة مبدع شكّل معلماً بارزاً في الأدب العربي في القرن العشرين أضاء مسارات وأحداثاً في جنبات الوطن العربي عبر ما يزيد على ستة عقود، وتغلغلت تجاربه في نفوس رأت الحبّ نسغ الحياة، وعرفت الأهواء تعصف وتهدأ، وعاشت مع تدفّق الفنّ يلوّن الأيّام.
وفي الجانب الآخر تنتظم مجموعة من الدراسات التطبيقية تكشف الظواهر الأسلوبيّة في الأعمال الكاملة للشاعر؛ وهي تقترح برؤية نقدية جديدة مسارات أمام المتلقّين، فثمّة القيم التعبيرية للدوائر الدلالية وإضاءاتها وعي الشاعر وتفاعلها مع الأبعاد الدرامية، والصورة الحديثة التي شكلها أبو ريشة معبرّة عن رؤية تلوّنت بثقافة زمن تجاورت فيه طموحات الأمّة وخفقات النفوس في عمقها الإنساني، وهناك طاقات التعبير الموسيقي المتعدّدة بحسب الآفاق التي تحرّكت فيها العيون وتجاوبت الأصداء، وهي تغني الحوار حول تجارب لا تزال تحاول تطوير الجانب الموسيقي في بناء القصيدة العربية.
