تعتبر الأسرة هي الخلية الأولى للمجتمع الإنساني والذي يمارس فيه الطفل أولى علاقته الإنسانية فتؤكد الأبحاث على أهمية البيئة التي يعيش فيها الطفل وتقوم على تنشئته ونموة واكتساب قيمه وإشباع حاجاته مما ينعكس على سلوكياته سلبا أو إيجابا .
وتتضمن هذه التنشئة البيئة الداخلية المتمثلة في الأسرة والبيئة الخارجية المتضمنة في الأصدقاء والمدرسة والقرية والمجتمع الذي يعيش فيه .
ولذلك كانت لأنماط السلوكيات الاجتماعية التي يتعلمها الطفل في محيط المجتمع الذي يعيش فيه قيما كبرى في حياته المستقبلية في كثير من مظاهر الانتماء أو عدمه والتي يمكن إرجاعها إلى نوع العلاقات الأنسانية السائدة بين أفراد الأسرة خاصة في سنوات حياتة الأولى .
ففي محيط الأسرة يتعلم الطفل النماذج الأولية لمختلف الاتجاهات كما تنمى لديه ما يغرس فيه من بذور الحب أو الكراهية أو الغيرة أو الإثارة أو التعاون أو التنافس وبصورة عامة تتكون الدعائم الأولى لشخصية الطفل داخل الأسرة فهي التي تمنح أطفالها الشعور بالأنتماء , وهذا الشعور ينمي عن الفرد الشعور بالأمن وحب الأستقرار في البقاء مما يحقق له ذاته .
