في هذا المؤلف سنقدم تفصيلاً ووصفاً لماهية تلوث البحار وأسبابه ومصادره وأنواعه، ففي الفصل الأول من هذا الكتاب سنطرح تقديماً عن التلوث، تعريفه وأنواعه ومصادره وسنهتم بتلوث المياه بشكل خاص، ثم ذكر لأهم التأثيرات البيولوجية للتلوث، ثم سنتحدث عن مياه البحار وخواصها، ثم سنذكر وبإيجاز مقدمة عن البحار وأنواعها وتصنيفاتها وأهميتها الغذائية بالنسبة للإنسان.
أما في الفصل الثاني من هذا المؤلف فسنناقش موضوع الكتاب - تلوث البحار - وسنتعرض لأنواع تلوث البحار ومصادر تلك التلوث وتأثيراته على البيئة البحرية وسنركز على التلوث البحري بالنفط كونه الأكثر حدوثاً وأهمية تأثيراً، كذلك سنركز البحث في التلوث الحراري لمياه البحار لأهميته وإنتشاره، أما في الفصل الثالث من هذا المؤلف فسنبحث في بعض حوادث ناقلات النفط والتأثيرات التي يحدثها تسرب النفط على النظم البيئية البحرية، كذلك سنتعرض لموضوع تلوث البحار بالمياه العادمة وتأثيرات المياه العادمة على الحياة البحرية، مع طرح أمثلة لمناطق بحرية ملوثة مثل البحر الأبيض المتوسط والبحر الأحمر والخليج العربي وسندرس التلوث البحري في الكويت كنموذج.
أما في الفصل الرابع فسنناقش موضوع علاج تلوث البحار وطرق إزالة الملوثات من البحار وسنذكر بعض الطرق المبتكرة والمقترحة، أما في الفصل الخامس فسنبحث في موضوع علاج التلوث الحراري في البحار، أما في الفصل السادس فسنتعرض لموضوع التشريعات والمنظمات الدولية والمحلية التي تدعو لحماية البحر من التلوث، ثم بعض التوصيات والخلاصة.
