هذا الكتاب يضم مواقف حياتي ومشاهداتي وتأملاتي خلال رحلاتي العملية والترفيهية في برلين وفي غيرها من المدن الألمانية، وفي باريس وروان الفرنسية، وفي أمستردام الهولندية، وفي مدريد وطليطلة الإسبانية، كتبت لكم قصة أيامي في هذه البلاد، فلم أخف عنكم مما رأيت شيئاً، وكنت في ذلك كله أحمل مصر بين جوانحي! لم يغب طيفها يوماً عن خيالي، ولم أنسها! أسرد وقائع وحكايات، من هنا ومن هناك، وأعقد مقارنات كثيرة؛ كانت تقع مني عفواً، بين كل ما شاهدته في بلاد الغرب وما عشته في مصر حتى ضجت هذه الصفحات بالمواقف والحكايات والمفارقات!...
