يعد هذا المؤلف من أفضل المؤلفات التي كتبت عن كنط وفلسفته بالعربية، فلم أفهم كنط إلا من خلال قراءتي لهذا الكتاب وذلك منذ أن كنت طالباً بمرحلة الليسانس بكلية الآداب جامعة الإسكندرية، وقد ظل حكمي على هذا الكتاب كما هو لم يتغير حتى الآن، ويشتمل الكتاب على مقدمة وستة عشر فصلاً، أما المقدمة فقد قام فيها أستاذنا بعرض وجهات النظر المختلفة حول كنط وفلسفته، وكما عرض فيها لأهمية كنط كفيلسوف، وعرض فيها بمؤلفه الأساسي وهو كتاب "نقد العقل الخالص"، ذلك الكتاب الكنطي الذي اعتمد عليه أستاذنا بصفة رئيسية في كتابة مؤلفه هذا، وقد أوصى أستاذنا الراحال في المقدمة القارئ بالبدء بقراءة الفصلين الثالث والسادس عشر، ففيهما تقديم لهذا الكتاب وتلخيص له، أما الفصل الأول: فعنوانه "حياة كنط ومؤلفاته"، أما الفصل الثاني فعنوانه "مدخل إلى الفلسفة النقدية" عرض فيه للأصول الفكرية للفسلفة الكنطية، كما عرض فيه لمشروع نقد العقل الخالص، أما الفصل الثالث فعنوانه "الفلسفة النقدية"، وقد خصص أستاذنا الفصول من الرابع إلى الخامس عشر لدراسة البابين الأول والثاني من كتاب "نقد العقل الخالص"، أما الفصل الرابع وعنوانه "الاستطيقا الترنسندنتالية" الذي عرض فيه كنط لنظريته في المكان والزمن: طبيعتهما ومعرفتنا لهما وصلتهما بالرياضيات البحتة، وأما الفصول من الخامس إلى الحدي عشر فقد تناول فيه أستاذنا القسم الأول من الباب الثاني من كتاب نقد العقل الخالص وعنوانه "التحليل الترنسندنتالي"، وأما الفصول من الثاني عشر إلى الخامس عشر فقد تناول فيها أستاذنا القسم الثاني من الباب الثاني من نقد العقل الخالص وعنوانه "الجدل الترنسندنتالي"، وأما الفصل السادس عشر فعنوانه "هل الميتافيزيقا كعلم ممكنة؟".
