يساهم كتابنا هذا، في معالم الفلسفة الفينومينولوجية الوجودية عند موريس ميرلوبونتي، وتبيان مكانتها، ليس فقط ضمن أنواع الفينومينولوجيا الأخرى فقط، وإنما ضمن الفلسفة المعاصرة ككل، وهذا ما سعى إليه كل الأساتذة الباحثين المساهمين في هذا الكتاب، حيث جاءت كل أعمالهم كمحاولة لتبيان جوانب تميز فلسفة ميرلوبونتي، وهنا تكمن قيمة وأهمية، بل وضرورة هذا الكتاب. إننا نأمل أن يكون هذا الكتاب مساهمة فعلية في إثراء المكتبة العربية بكتاب حول فيلسوف لم ينل حقه من الدراسة حتى الآن، لأن أغلب الدراسات حول الفينومينولوجيا، اتجهت إلى هوسرل باعتبار أنه مؤسس الفينومينولوجيا، كما أن أغلب الدراسات حول الوجودية اتجهت إلى سارتر كأهم ممثل للمذهب الوجودي، مع العلم أن ميرلوبونتي ليس مجرد قارىء لهوسرل، وأن مؤلفاته لم تكن في أسلوب أدبي مثل مؤلفات سارتر، وإنما جاءت في أسلوب أكاديمي متميز.
تحاول الفينومينولوجيا الوجودية عند ميرلوبونتي أن تجيب عن تساؤلات الفلسفة المعاصرة بكل أبعادها الوجودية والمعرفية والقيمية والجمالية والتاريخية ... فاتجهت إلى حل مشكلة علاقة الذات بالموضوع، وإلى البحث في المعنى الحقيقي للوجود في العالم، وعملت على استقصاء علاقة الأنا بالآخر، كما استجلت معالم الدرس اللغوي المعاصر، إضافة إلى أنها طرحت بتميز كبير مسألة الفن، دون أن تهمل جوانب التاريخ والسياسة والأخلاق.
جاءت البحوث والدراسات التي تحتويها دفتي هذا الكتاب، لتعالج الجوانب السابقة الذكر في الفينومينولوجيا الوجودية عند ميرلوبونتي، وغيرها.
