ب..ح..ر.. ثلاثة أحرف تفككت أمامي، المعنى أقسى من الحروف، السماء انطبقت على البحر وتجسدا في كيان واحد مفتول العضلات، غضبه جمال من الموج، الموج من الماء هناك في النيل أحس عذوبته، ارتشفه من راحة يد حنان.. الآن مالح يحرق الحنجرة، تهشم المركب وغاص في جوف هذا الكائن، هناك كان الكروان يدعو "الملك.. لك.. لك.. لك.. يا صاحب الملك " هنا يزوم البحر ويخور بقوة ألف ثور، أسواطه تجلدنا، يهرسنا بأصابعه الغليظة، نستسلم واحد وراء الآخر، أصرخ مستنجداً بكل شئ، أقرأ ما في رأسي من آي القرآن، أشرب الماء المالح، ألفظ الشهادتين، لو كان للموت جسد لقلت لك أنني رأيته يخطو فوق الماء. من رحم الليل يولد النهار، أطفو قليلاً، ينتصف النهار، الشمس تحرق جلدي المملح ومضات من حياتي..
