الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا هو كتاب "تحرير المنقول وتهذيب علم الأصول" للقاضي علاء الدين أبي الحسن علي بن سليمان المرداوي الحنبلي (المتوفى سنة 885هـ) وهو مجموعة مختصر في أصول الفقه، نافع- بإذن الله تعالى- لمن قصرت همته عن الإكثار، ومالت إلى الإيجاز والاختصار، كتاب رشيق العبارة، جامع بين وجازة اللفظ وغزارة المعنى، اهتم فيه مؤلفه- رحمه الله- ببيان أقوال الأئمة الأربعة وأتباعهم، وعنى عناية خاصة بإبراز مذهب الإمام أحمد وأقوال أصحابه، مع تحرير ذلك كله، وعزو الأقوال والآراء إلى قائلها، ومع هذا فلم ينل حظه من النشر، ولم يتبوأ مكانه في المكتبة الأصولية.
