هذه شعبة القضاء والقدر ضمن شعب الإيمان, تبين معنى القضاء والقدر. فالقضاء وجود جميع الموجودات في اللوح المحفوظ مجتمعة, والقدر وجودها متفرقة في الأعيان بعد حصول شرائطها. وقد حدد وقت كتابة مقادير الخلائق قبل خلق السموات والأرض بخمسين ألف سنة, والكتابة تمت في اللوح المحفوظ بالقلم. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب: القدر لا يمنع العمل للآخرة, الكتابة لا تعني الإلزام والجبر, أفعال العباد مخلوقة لله عز وجل, هل يجب الرضا بالمعاصي, هل يجوز الاحتجاج بالقدر, هل يجب على الله تعالى فعل شيء, هل يستطيع القعل إدراك الحسن والقبح بنفسه, هل يجب على الله عز وجل رزق عباده.
