في هذا الكتاب يتحدث أبي الفضل عبد الله... العماري عن نبوة "إدريس عليه السلام" فيحيط بجميع ما جاء فيه الأخبار والروايات والأحاديث، وثبوت رسالته في القرآن الكريم: {وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا (56) وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا (57)}. [سورة مريم]... وفي حديث أبي ذو الطويل الذي صححه ابن جبان "إن إدريس كان نبياً رسولاً".
وفي الكتاب يورد المؤلف أن نبي الله إدريس هو أول من أعطي النبوة بعد شيت، وأول الرسل بعد آدم عليه السلام، وأول من نظر في النجوم والحساب وجعلها الله تعالى من معجزاته، وأول من خط بالقلم كما تقدم في حديث أبي ذر رضي الله عنه.
وفي هذا السياق يجيب المؤلف عن أسئلة مثل: ما قول الله عزّ وجلّ لإدريس، "ورفعناه مكاناً علياً" والروايات الواردة في تفسير هذه الآية والتي تشير إلى بقاءه بين الجنة والسماء الرابعة؛ وكذلك صداقته لملك الشمس!، وصداقته لملك الموت وسؤاله لربه أن يريه الجنة والنار!، ثم قبسات مما سنّه إدريس لقومه "دعا إلى دين الله تعالى والقول بالتوحيد، وعبادة الخالق، وتخليص النفوس من العذاب في الآخرة بالعمل الصالح في الدنيا...".
بالإضافة إلى مواعظه وحكمه مما جاء في كتاب "المنتخبات الملتقطات" لمحمد الزوزتي؛ وغير ذلك مما جاء في حقه عند الرواة والمحدثين، وأخيراً يخلص المؤلف إلى أمور منها: "الأول" نبوة إدريس عليه السلام لتصريح القرآن الكريم بها، "الثاني" رسالته لتصريح الحديث بها، "الثالث" أنه جد نوح وأنه غير إلياس عليه السلام، و"الرابع" أنه أول من خط بالقلم ونظر في علم النجوم، و"الخامس" أنه رفع لظاهر خبر القرآن الكريم، وأنه في السماء الرابعة بنص الحديث الصحيح، و"السادس" أنه كان صديقاً لملك الموت، وأخيراً إن إدريس كان رسولاً إلى قومه فقط مع وجود غيرهم ولم يرسل إليهم، على خلاف رسالة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم فهي عامة أصالة.
