كتاب النور في الإمام المستور، يجهد مؤلفه (العارف المحقق آية الله الشيخ محمد باقر البهاري)، بأن ينبِّه فيه إلى من سبق ممن كتبوا عن الإمام المهدي عجّل الله تعالى فرجه الشريف، ويبيِّن هفواتهم وانحرافهم واجتهادهم بغير كفاية علم ومعرفة بحسب رأيه، حول الإمام (عج)، حتى ظهر نتيجة ذلك مدارس وطرق مثل "الشيخية" و"البابية" و"الأزلية" و"البهائية". ويفنِّد الأخطاء ويصوب الانحراف.
وقد جاء الكتاب في ثمانية أبواب، تحدث الأول في الأخبار الدالة على أهمية وضرورة وجود إمام بعد الرسول صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم، ووجوب الإئتمام به. وفي الثاني أهمية الإئتمام بإمام. والثالث حول حديث التمسك بالكتاب والعترة. وفي الرابع والخامس والسادس في تعيين أهل البيت والعترة كي لا تضل الناس. وفي السابع تحدث عن سر حجب الإمام (عج) عن الأبصار. وقد أضيف إلى الكتاب باب تاسع، مستدرك، أثبت فيه الكلمات الصادرة في شأن الإمام (عج) من بعض الأعلام.
