له مؤلفات تدرس في العديد من الجامعات في علوم الدين المختلفة: أصول الدين، وعلم الحديث، والشريعة، ومقارنة الأديان، كما أن له مؤلفات عديدة عن الفرق الإسلامية، فضلا عن الكتابات الاجتماعية.

يعد هذا الكتاب أول دراسة باللغة العربية عن الأديان من وجهة نظر الفلسفة الهيجلي، ويعرض لمعظم الأديان التى تتابعت في تاريخ الإنسانية، سواء كانت أديانا سماوية ام وضعية، مثل: الفيتشية، الصينية، الهندوسية، البوذية، اللامية، المصرية، الزرادتشية، السورية، اليهودية ، اليونانية ، الرومانية ، المسيحية والإسلام. ويكشف المؤلف عن جوانب القصور والخلل والانحياز في موقف هيكل من الأديان. فضلا عن محاولة الكشف عن دور الدين في تشكليل المذهب الفلسفي، ودور الفلسفة في تكوين التصور الديني.
كل هذا في ضوء منهج تأويلي نقدي ملتزم بشروط العقلانية والموضوعية.
