الفصل الأول : السرد العربى : البحث فى السرد العربي , تأسيسا لغويا ونقديا ومحققا العلاقة بين الشعر والسرد معتمدا على تحليل نص شعرى قديم تحليلا سرديا ومتوقفا عند مصطلحات السرد العربى قديما وحديثا بغية رسم إطار عام للسرد العربي . الفصل الثانى : المكان السردي : ويعالج المكان متتبعا رحلته من الواقع إلى الفكر ومن الفكر إلى الفن السردي ومحاولا تحديد مفهوم المكان الروائى ورسم ملامح له من خلال أبعاده المختلفة الجغرافي والنفسي والهندسي والفيزيائي والتاريخي والعجائبي والاجتماعي. الفصل الثالث: تقنيات المكان وجمالياتها : ويساير حركة المكان وبداية فاعليته فى النص الروائى وعلاقة السرد والوصف بالمكان ومحاولا رسم جماليات خاصة للمكان من خلال بعض أشكاله. الفصل الرابع : المكان فى الحكاية القديمة : وهو فصل يتوقف عند حكاية السندباد البحري من ألف ليلة وليلة بوصفه حكاية قديمة يكشف من خلالها عن استراتيجة المكان من خلال خطين أساسيين: - السندباد فى المكان: ويتتبع حركة السندباد فى أمكنته المختلفة. - المكان فى السندباد: وهو يكشف عن ذلك الأثر المكانى على السندباد بعد انتهاء رحلته عبر أمكنته المتعددة. الفصل الخامس: أيام الإنسان السبعة : وهو فصل يعتمد على رؤية المكان فى النص الروائي بعد رحلة قطعها البحث عبر الرواية العربية على اختلاف كتابها واتجاهاتهم ومذاهبهم ومحاولة رؤية المكان بصورة خاصة بعد معاشرة طويلة لأكثر من أربعيننصا روائيا عربيا. الثانى : الاقتراب من نص حديث يكون مقابلا للنص القديم الذى طرحه البحث فى الفصل السابق محاولا الكشف عن اختلاف المنظور والفاعلية لهذه الاستراتيجية المكانية . ثم تأتى الخاتمة طارحة نتائج الدراسة.
