في هذا الجزء من الموسوعة يتناول الباحث حكايات الألغاز والفوازير والمعاضلات، وهي نوع من الحكايات القصيرة التي يرويها أو يتناولها الأطفال والصبيان وأحياناً الشباب فيما بينهم، إما في حفلات السمر الليلية أثناء حراسة "الجرون"، أو في أثناء مساجلات ولعب الأطفال في "الرهبات" أو الساحات أمام البيوت، وفي ايام الحصاد أو جني القطن نهاراً، وكذلك حكايات الرصد والثر والأحلام والأنساب والمهن والحرف والأطعمة ومسميات الأشياء، وحكايات الفدائيين والسير والبطولات والقدرات والخوارق، وحكايات الأنبياء وآل البيت والأولياء والقديسين، وحكايات أخرى تؤكد على مفاهيم دينية وأخلاقية، بالإضافة لحكايات مصرية قديمة. ونلحظ أن هذه الحكايات تؤثر بشكل واضح في الحكايات الشعبية المعاصرة التي ما زال الناس يحكونها حتى الآن، والكثير من هذه الحكايات يتناوله الناس في القرية المصرية كما هو مع الإختلاف في طريقة الرواية ومؤثر الزمان والمكان فيها.
