ودليل جدة هذا الكتاب أنه مبوب بشكل حديث يسهل على المطالع مراجعة القضية التي يريدها. والكتاب ينقسم إلى بابين: 1-القضاء، وفيه خمسة أقسام: أ-أقضية أمير المؤمنين في عهد الرسول. ب-أقضية أمير المؤمنين في عهد "أبي بكر". ج-أقضية أمير المؤمنين في عهد عمر بن الخطاب. د-أقضية أمير المؤمنين في عهد عثمان بن عفان. هـ-أقضية أمير المؤمنين في عهده عليه السلام. 2-الباب الثاني: المسائل.
وهي تشتمل على أجوبة لأسئلة عديدة عويصة كانت توجه إليه عليه السلام من مختلف البلاد والأفراد وكان يجيب عليها بما وهبه الله من الدراية والمعرفة، وفيها حلول لأعقد المشكلات وأصعب المعضلات.
ويحتوي هذا الباب على أقوال خالدة في الطب، والعلم، والتربية والإرث وغير ذلك.
وبالإجمال إن هذا الكتاب على الرغم من صغر حجمه يحتوي على "192" قضية، مدرسة جامعة تعلم إلى جانب القضاء مختلف العلوم والفنون.
