فقد خصَّ الله تعالى هذه الرسالة الإسلامية بأن تكون خاتمة الرسالات شاملةً لكل الأمم والأقوام في كل زمانٍ ومكانٍ، فجعل دستورها القرآن العظيمَ وشرحَه حديثَ رسوله الكريم، وكفل حفظ هذا الدين ﴿إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ﴾... فحفظت الأمة القرآن الكريم بالتواتر القطعي، وحفظت الحديث النبوي بنقل العدول الضابطين بشروط تكفل سلامة الإنتقال عبر حلقات الإسناد، وكان ذلك التمييز والتمحيص لصحيح الحديث النبوي من سقيمه خصوصيةً لهذه الأمة كمثل بها حفظُ الدين.
وقد زخرت المكتبة الإسلامية بدراسات أصول الحديث بما لا يوجد عشر معشاره عند أي أمةٍ من الأمم، وكان من أهم هذه الجهود لأهل هذا العلم الدراسات التي تعرض منهج المحدثين في النقد، وبرز ذلك واضحاً في كتاب "منهج النقد في علوم الحديث" بحمد الله تعالى وتوفيقه، وأنا أعتبر هذا الكتاب مفتاحاً للتجديد في عرض هذا العلم أرجو أن تتابع عليه جهود الباحثين.
