تقدم الزوج هو الآخر.. طلبت منه أن ينحني عليها لتحتضنه حيث أنها غير قادرة على الاعتدال.. فعل ذلك قبل دقيقة من انزعاج سكان الحارة بصريخ سعاد وأصوات شتائم متبادلة وهرولة المعلم نعيم واضعاً كفه على مؤخرة رأسه التي تنزف دماً.. لقد استغلت اقترابه منها.. صرخت في أذنه: "بقى تعملها بجد وتتجوز عليا يا لمامة يا دون"، كانت تحتضنه بيسراها بينما أخرجت اليمنى من أسفل الوسادة ممسكة بقالب من الطوب الأحمر كانت قد أحضرته من فوق سطح المنزل وهوت بها على رأسه..
ساعات أربع يستغرقها الطريق من بلدته إلى القاهرة يضاف إليها نصف ساعة في حالات السفر صباحًا؛ نظرًا لأن السيارة تكون على مشارف العاصمة وسط سيارات غيرها كثيرة من كافة الأحجام، مما يجعل من السير على الأقدام في ظروف عادية وسيلة أسرع من استعمال المركبات في زحام كذاك الزحام.. يختلف الركاب في شعورهم بتلك (العطلة) وفي توصيفهم لها تبعًا لشخصياتهم.. بالنسبة له كانت الساعة الأخيرة في السفر كسابقاتها؛ مجرد وقت يمضي في الانتقال إلى أقاربه.. زيارته لهم واجبة مما يجعل المشقة في سبيلها واجبًا توحي له تأديته بإخلاصه وشهامته، مما يكون معه منتشيًا لأنه يمعن في استحقاقه لصفات الجدعنة والشهامة.. أما ما شغل به جلسته مع السائق فكان الحوار والمزاح بجانب حكايات الماضي، وأخبار القرية بالطبع.. حوار كهذا لا يحتاج عادة إلى ترتيب ليبدأ وإنما يأتي عفويًّا وكأن الأقدار ساقته، وفي حالنا هذه فقد بدأ بأغنية قديمة انطلقت من شريط وضعه السائق بكاسيت السيارة؛ فتمتم كلاهما مرددًا مع المطرب، هازًا رأسه طربًا.. ثم كان السائق من بدأ بالحديث:
الأغاني دي لا بد منها.. حاجة تسلينا في الطريق.. ما هو الواحد في المهنة بتاعتنا دي لو مشي ساكت كده هيطق.
كان الله في العون...
والطرق كمان بقت صعبة.. شايف الأسفلت عامل إزاي!.. مبيعديلوش سنة يكون متكسر وزي الزفت.
فعلًا.
أهو كل مرة يترصف فيها كده تلاقي المقاول بيطلع له منها بنص مليون جنيه وللا حاجة.. حكم دي ناس مبتشبعش، والحكومة سايباهم وبتغلي علينا البنزين والزيت.. كل حاجة غليت.. هقول إيه.. ربنا يفكها من عنده.
