قد اتبعت في هذا البحث منهج المقارنة الفقهية بين مذاهب السلف ، وذلك بقدر الإمكان في المسائل التى تمكن المقارنة فيها إذ أعرض المسألة ، وأذكر آراء الفقهاء فيها ثم أسوق أدلة كل فريق والاعتراضات الواردة عليها والردود ان كان ثمة اعتراض او جواب عنه ثم اذكر بعد هذا رأيي في المسألة والذي يكون ترجيحا لمذهب من مذاهب السلف ظهر لي رجحانه لقوة دليله وتحقيقه مصلحة اعتبرها الشارع ومبينا سبب اختياري له ومناقشا أدلة المذاهب الأخرى غير متعصب لمذهب ولا متعنت في تفنيد أدلة غيره واما في غير المسائل السابقة فقد اكتفيت بطرح المسأة والاستدلال لحكمها بنصوص الشريعة العامة وقواعدها الكلية المتفق عليها بين الفقهاء مستلهما في ذلك المصالح التى قصد اليها الشارع من تشريع الأخكام وقد عولت في حكم هذه المسائل وتلك على كثير مما كتبه المتخصصون في مجال الأدواء والدواء وقد استقيت آراء كل مذهب فقهي من كتبه المعتمدة واستقيت آراء غيرهم من السلف من كتب السنن والآثار وشروحها وكتب الفقه المقارن هذا بالاضافة إلى توثيق آيات الكتاب الكريم ، وتخريج الاحاديث والآثار التى تضمنها البحث مع بيان نسبتها من الصحة او الضعف وأقوال المحدثين فيها مستعينا في ذلك كله بالمراجع الأصلية في الفقه واصوله والتفسير والحديث واللغة وغيرها.
