أما الخدمات الإجتماعية فقد احتلت أيضاً مكانة بارزة في مؤسسات الخدمة الإجتماعية إنطلاقاً من الدور الهام الذي تقوم به والأهداف التي تحقق من أجل تلبية إحتياجات المستفيدين منها، كما تمثل هذه المؤسسات المجال الرئيس لممارسة الخدمة الإجتماعية وتكامل مناهجها المهنية حيث تمثل دليل فاعليتها خاصة وإن الخدمة الإجتماعية مهنة تطبيقية وبدون ممارستها من خلال مؤسساتها القائمة لن يكون لها الدور الفعلي الفاعل في المجتمع، فهي نشأت من أجل تلبية حاجاته وتمثل جهود الأفراد والجماعات المنظمة لإحتياجات المستفيدين سواء أكانت هذه الحاجات مادية أو معنوية والتي تظهر نتيجة للظروف الإجتماعية في البيئة المحيطة.
ومن هنا، جاء هذا الكتاب ليركز بالدرجة الرئيسة على الجودة والخدمة الإجتماعية في المؤسسات الإجتماعية ليكون بذلك من الكتب القليلة جداً باللغة العربية التي تتناول هذا الموضوع على مدى خمسة فصول من فصوله المتنوعة في أهدافها ومحتوياتها وموضوعاتها الفرعية.
