إن عملية تحويل الافكار المبتكرة إلي مشروعات وشركات ومؤسسات أعمال قابلة للنمو والازدهار، ستظل هي التحدي الأكبر الذي يواجه البشرية، فريادة الأعمال الناجحة لا تتطلب توافر التوفيق والأموال فحسب، بل تتطلب ما هو أكثر من ذلك؛ لأن ريادة الاعمال عملية متكاملة تجمع ما بين الابداع، وتحمل المخاطر، والتخطيط؛ من هنا، يمكن القول بأن ريادة الاعمال ليست مرادفاً لمجرد إقامة مشروع جديد.
فعلي الرغم من ان التعريف الضيق يعبر عن احد الجوانب المهمة في ريادة الاعمال، إلا انه لا يعطينا صورة كاملة عنها، بالاضافة إلي ذلك، ينبغي أن تتوافر خصائص معينة تتعلق بالقدة علي اكتشاف الفرص، داخل إطار خاص، هذا الإطار الخاص والمتميز هو ما نطلق عليه تعبير رواد الاعمال، فالفكر الريادي ينبع من داخل الافراد.
ويمكن أن نلاحظ سيادة هذا الفكر داخل المنظمات أو خارجها، وفي المنظمات التي تهدف إلي الربح وكذلك التي لا تهدف إلي الربح، وفي الأنشطة التجارية وغير التجارية، إلا انه يهدف في النهاية إلي نشر الأفكار المبدعة والخلاقة، لذلك، تعبر ريادة الاعمال عن مفهوم، متكامل يتخلل المنظمات الفردية بطريقة مبتكرة وغير تقليدية، وهذا المفهوم هو الذي قاد الثورة التي غيرت أسلوب إدارة منظمات الأعمال علي جميع المستويات وفي كل دولة من دول العالم.
من هذا المنطلق، جاءت فصول هذا الكتاب لتقدم للقارىء العربي فكرة متكاملة- إلي حد كبير- عن مفهوم ريادة الاعمال باعتباره القوة الدافعة للاقتصادات الوطنية.
