هذا الكتاب الذي نقدمه اليوم " لمحات الأنوار" من أجمع الكتب في فضائل القرآن إن لم يكن أجمعها على الإطلاق. هذه الفضائل التي وردت في الأحاديث النبوية الشريفة، وآثار الصحابة والتبعين ومن بعدهم. وتبدو الكتب التي ألفت في فضائل القرآن ضئيلة الحجم مقارنة بهذا الكتاب، كفضائل أبي عبيد القاسم بن سلام، وإبن الضريس، والآجري، والنووي، وإبن كثير، وغيرهم.
فقد جمع ما يقارب من ألفي رواية في ثلاثمائة وأربعة وثلاثين باباً من أبواب فضائل القرآن الكريم. كما جمعه مصنفه من سبعين كتاباً، كما ذكر ذلك في المقدمة، وفي أسانيده إلى هذه الكتب في آخر هذا الكتاب، وبعض هذه الكتب أودع معظمه في هذا الكتاب ككتاب "فضائل القرآن " لأبي عبيد.
ومن هذا وذاك تبدو أهمية هذا الكتاب. كما تبدو أهميته عندما نتعرف على مؤلفه، ومنهجه في الكتاب، ومدى العناية التي يمكن أن تقدم له، والتي قدمناها ليزف إلى محبي القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية المطهرة، والشريعة الإسلامية الغراء، والعلم الإسلامي الشريف.
أما مصنفه فهو كما قدمه الذهبي في سير أعلام النبلاء: (22/162-163) الإمام الحافظ البارع المتقن الأوحد أبو القاسم محمد بن عبد الواحد بن إبراهيم بن مفرج الغافقي الأندلسي الملاحي.
أما كتابه الذي نقدمه اليوم فقد قسمه إلى أبواب، وجمع في كل باب ما يناسبه من الروايات الموفوعة، والموقوفة، وذلك من الكتب التي ذكرها في المقدمة وهو يقدمها دون أسانيد، مكتفياً بالصاحب أو التابع، ويذكر قبل الرواية رمز الكتاب الذي أخذها منه، وهو يجمع بين روايات الحديث الواحد، أو الأثر ما أمكنه ذلك من سبيل.
وقد يكرر الحديث الواحد، ومن المصدر نفسه تحت أبواب لأنه يناسب كل باب منها. ومن عاداته أن يبدأ بأصح الأحاديث والآثار في الباب، ثم يعقب ذلك بالأحاديث التي تليها في الدرجة.
والكتاب بإيراده للروايات المتعددة للحديث الواحد أو الأثر الواحد يتيح للمستفيد منه أن يقارن بين الروايات التي يقوي بعضها بعضاً، سواء أكانت ضعيفة أو فيها ما هو أقوى من ذلك من صحيح أو حسن.
والكتاب فيه كمٌّ لا بأس به من الصحاح والحسان من الروايات، ولعلنا لا نبالغ إذا قلنا: إنه جمع في كتابه جل هذين النوعين من الأحاديث والآثار، ولم يفته إلا القليل أو النادر.
