نقدّم إلى قراء العربية والمشتغلين بتراثها النفيس، كتاب العالم الحافظ، الحجة، الشيخ الإمام شرف الدين بن عبد المؤمن بن خلف الدمياطي الخيل وأسماؤها وأجناسها...
وقد جمع فيه المؤلف فأوعى، فكان عمله محاولة جادة لبيان أهمية الخيل العربية وفضلها في الجهاد، وخاصة فيما يتعلق منها بالإعداد والسباق والتضمير، إلى جانب الحث على إكرامها، وذكر ألوانها، وأسمائها، وما يُستحبُّ منها ويكره، وقد ساعد المؤلف في ذلك عِلْمُهُ وتَعَمُّقُهُ في الفِقْهِ وعلوم الحديث، وإطلاعهُ على مَنْ سبقه في هذا المجال.
وسنعرض في هذه الدراسة (التحقيق) إلى أهمية اختيار البحث ودوافع التأليف في الخيل والفروسية، كما نعرض قيمة الكتاب التي تكمن في أنه قدم لنا مجموعة كبيرة من الآيات القرآنية، والأحاديث النبوية التي تتحدث بمجملها عن الخيل، بالإضافة إلى التفاصيل الكاملة فيما يتعلق بأبواب الكتاب التي تناولت فضل الخيل المتخذة للجهاد في سبيل الله تعالى، والتماس نسلها، وإرتباطها.
في البداية، سنعرض قسماً مستقلاً عن أهمية الخيل عند العرب في الجاهلية والإسلام، وقسماً آخر للدراسة، بدأناه بترجمة حياة المؤلف وثقافته ومؤلفاته، مع لمحة مختصرة عن شيوخه وتلاميذه، تلاها ذكر الكتاب المحقَّقِ، من حيث عنوانهُ ونسبتهُ وموضوعهُ، وكتبُ الخيل قبل المؤلف (الدمياطي)، ودراسةٌ مقارنةٌ لبعض كتب الخيل، مع وصف للمخطوط ومنهج المؤلف فيه.
وسنخصِّص فصلاً للمتن المحقِّق، نتناول فيه فضل الخيل المتَّخذة للجهاد في سبيل الله تعالى، وما جاء في مسح نواصيها وبركتها والنفقة عليها وخدمتها، ثم الحديث عن سباقها، وما يحل في ذلك وما يحرم، ويتبعه الحديث فيما يقسم لصاحب الخيل من الغنائم من السهام، ومما ورد في ذلك مِنَ السنن والأحكام، ثم الحديث عن سقوط الزكاة عن الخيل، يليه في ما وقع إلى المؤلف من تسمية مراكب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ودوابه وتسمية دواب مَنْ كان من أصحابه وأحزابه.
كما سنشرح ما غمض من الكلمات والألفاظ الواردة في النص، التي لم يقم المؤلف بشرحها.
