ويعنى - بالدرجة الأولى- ببيان مناهج الأصوليين في تلك الدلالات، ذلك أنهم يختلفون في طرق الدلالة- كما سنرى- فللمتكلمين- الجمهور- في ذلك منهج وطريقة ، وللحنفية منهج آخر يغاير منهج المتكلمين في النظرة والتقسيم. وتتبع دراسة المنهج بالضرورة الدراسة الوصفية والموضوعية لكل موضوع م الموضوعات المختلفة التى خاض الأصوليون غمارها من خلال الاختلاف ، وبيان الأثر الفقهي المترتب على ذلك الاختلاف متى وجد.
