الخازن (678 - 741هـ، 1280 - 1341م).
أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن إبراهيم بن عمر الشيحي. وعُرف بالخازن لأنه كان أمينًا لمكتبة في دمشق. أصله من حلب. وُلد في بغداد، ثم سكن دمشق وسمع بعض علمائها، فاشتغل بالعلم والتأليف، ويسَّر له عمله في المكتبة سبل التعلم والكتابة، فترك مصنفات كثيرة منها مقبول المنقول وهو كتاب قيم في الحديث ومنها تفسيره لباب التأويل في معاني التنزيل وهو تفسير متوسط الحجم لخصه من تفسير البغوي وأضاف إليه أشياء كثيرة خصوصًا ما يتعلق بالقصص التاريخية والإسرائيليات الباطلة والغريبة، فكان ذلك من مآخذ تفسيره. توفي بحلب.

هذا الكتاب هو بمثابة تهذيب لتفسير الإمام البغوي يقول مصنفه في اختصاره هذا: ولم أجعل لنفسي تصرفا سوى النقل والانتخاب. ابتعد فيه عن التطويل، وحذف منه الأسانيد، أورد فيه التفسير الإفرادي والإجمالي واللغوي، وفضائل السور، وأسباب النزول، معتمدا في ذلك غالبا على الأحاديث النبوية والآثار الصحيحة مع تخريج الأحاديث والآثار، إضافة إلى الشواهد الشعرية العربية
