تواجه واحدة من قلاع الفن المصري عاصفة غير مسبوقة؛ حيث أصبح "مسرح الفن جلال الشرقاوي" مهدداً بالهدم بين لحظة وأخرى بقرار رسمي من محافظة القاهرة، وذلك بحجة أن وجوده أصبح فجأة يمثل خطراً على معهد الموسيقى العربية الذي ربما يفوقه من حيث القيمة التاريخية والأثرية، إلا أنه لا يزيد على القيمة الفنية لمسرح جلال الشرقاوي في شئ، إن لم يكن الأخير أكثر أهمية وحيوية على الساحة الفنية في مصر.
ومن قلب العاصفة، وبالتحديد من مكتب جلال الشرقاوي، الذي اعتصم بداخله، حصلت "جيل الغد" على تصريحات حاسمة منه، أكد فيها أنه هو المعنى شخصياً من الحملة التي يشنها فاروق حسني وزير الثقافة ضده وليس المسرح العريق، كاشفاً أن الأخير قد استغل حالة الهلع التي أصابت المسئولين بمحافظة القاهرة في أعقاب توالي كوارث الحرائق التي ضربت عدداً من المواقع ذات القيمة التاريخية الكبيرة وآخرها حريق المسرح القومي، وقام بالإيعاز إلى المحافظ- وهو في حالة الذعر هذه- لاتخاذ قرار ظاهره انقاذ أحد الآثار الثقافة المهمة، وباطنه ضربة موجهة إلى اسم "جلال الشرقاوي". والحمد لله.. والحمد لله إلى ما لا نهاية.. ها هي أضواء مسرح الفن تعود لتتلألأ من جديد بعد غيبة طويلة في ظلام دامس ومرير وقاس.. وها أنا ذا أقف بينكم.. جمهوري العزيز.. مع هذه النخبة الممتازة- العزيزة الغالية- من أبنائي وبناتي الممثلين داعياً إياكم أن تضحكوا كثيراً وألا تبكوا أبداً.. ولكن انتظروا وترقبوا فالمعركة لم تنته بعد.. ويبدو أنها لن تنتهي.. فطيور الظلام لا تزال متربصة مترصدة.. وقد انضم إليها طائر جديد. الرقابة على المصنفات الفنية!..
