إن الشريعة الإسلامية المطهرة هي من أكثر الشرائع السماوية اهتماماً بالعلم والعلماء، وأول ما نزل به الروح الأمين على سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: (اقرأ) وهو أدل دليل على ذلك، فاستل العلماء يراعتهم، وسودوا الطروس بمحابرهم، فأناروا حندس الظلام لمن بعدهم. لقد طلعت شموس العلوم من أفلاك الدواوين والدفاتر، وسطعت نجوم الفنون من مشارق الأقلام والمحابر، فكانت المؤلفات غرة في جبين الزمان في الماضي والحاضر، وتعددت في شتى أنواع الفنون، وتفنن العلماء في تآليفهم: فمن ناظم وشارح، ومطول ومختصر، ومدقق ومحقق، فامتلأت مكتبات الدنيا بهذه المؤلفات، وتعذَّر جمع أسماء عناوينها، فنشأ علم الفهرسة لأسماء الكتب وبدأت التآليف في ذلك. أما سفرنا هذا.. فهو حصيلة عمر وجهد سنين، أراد مؤلفه السيد عبد الله الحبشي حفظه الله تعالى أن يُيسِّر بكتابه هذا على طلاب العلم، فجمع فيه المتون المشهورة المتداولة بين العلماء وطلبة العلم، وأتبع كل متنٍ ما يتعلق به من شرحٍ، أو شرحِ الشرح، أو حاشية، أو تهذيب، أو اختصار، أو نظم أو ما له ارتباط بذلك، ثم ذكر مطبوعات الكتاب إن وُجد أو مخطوطاته وأماكن وجودها، وهذه خدمة جليلة يعرف قدرها من خاض خِضَمَّها، قال في مقدمة كتابه: (وطريقتي في إيراد الشروح وذكر عناوينها هي أني أورد اسم المتن كما ورد في أصله دون زيادة أو نقصان، وفي حالات قليلة أكتفي باسم الشهرة التي عُرف بها عند العلماء والشراح، فأذكره في عناوين الشروح، مثال ذلك: متن «الرحبية» كذا يرد اسمه في بعض الشروح، واسمه الحقيقي: «بغية الباحث» ومثله متن «الجزرية»، أسماها المؤلف بـ «المقدمة» وإنما اشتهرت عند العلماء بـ «المقدمة الجزرية» فاكتفيت باسم الشهرة...). ومن خلال هذا الكتاب: سيجد القارئ الكريم متوناً حظيت بشروح عديدة بلغت المئات وأخرى دون ذلك؛ في جميع الفنون الحديثية والفقهية والنحوية، وهذا دليل أهميتها قديماً وحديثاً مما جعلها كتباً مقررة في مراحل الدراسة العلمية، فإليكم هذه الدرة النفيسة التي تكون دليلاً ومفتاحاً للعلماء ولطلاب العلم بحلة قشيبة مع فهرس لأسماء الكتب والمؤلفين.
