بعد إحدى عشر سنة على صدور كتابه الأول أراد المهندس اللبناني "جهاد يوسف كحيل" كتابة مذكراته بضم ما كتبه في كتيبه الأول وما سجله خلال أسفاره تحت عنوان "البحث عن الذات في خبايا اللاوعي الجماعي" والذي يشكل في مضمونه مسار حياة لمؤلفه يتحدث خلاله عن تجربته في هذه الحياة وبحثه عن المعرفة في جذورها النقية. في العلم الذي تدرك بواسطته الحقيقة، وبه يدرك معنى الإله أو الخير المطلق.
تحت عنوان (لماذا البحث عن الذات في خبايا اللاوعي الجماعي؟) يقول المؤلف: "إن كل ما يتناوله الفكر الإنساني الواعي، من علم وفن وفلسفة وشعر وأدب، يختزن في اللاوعي الجماعي، الذي كون منذ الأزل والذي لا يفنى، بل هو مصدر لكل إلهام وينبوع لفكر الأمم الخلاق. إنه ضميرها الحي هناك يكتشف الإنسان سر الخليقة وسر الخالق الساكن فيه ...).
