ويتناول الكتاب كذلك التخطيط وأهمية الخطة بالنسبة للمعلم وبناء الخطة وعناصرها وأنواعها والأهداف السلوكية ومجالاتها ومستوياتها: المعرفة، الفهم، التطبيق، التحليل، التركيب والتقويم هذا في المجال المعرفي وأما في المجال النفسي فالاستقبال والتهيئة والاستجابة الموجهة والاستجابة الميكانيكية والاستجابة المركبة والتكييف والتنظيم. كما اهتم الكتاب بالتخطيط طويل المدى والخطة السنوية وعناصرها ومكوناتها ودور المدرسة في تنمية المواهب عند الطلبة وتنمية التفكير الإبداعي لديهم.
