يضم الكتاب مجموعة من البحوث والفتاوى التي كانت حصيلة جهد الدكتور أحمد الحجي الكردي وذلك من موقعه كمدرس في كلية الشريعة في عدة جامعات للعديد من المواد الشرعية وهي: الفقه، وأصول الفقه، والقواعد الفقهية الكليّة، والأموال الشخصية، والتاريخ الإسلامي... كما والمواد: الأحوال الشخصية، والمدخل إلى علم القانون، والقانون المدني والتي درّسها في كليتي الحقوق في جامعتي دمشق وحلب.
وقد كان الدكتور الكردي، وكما ذكرنا، وبحكم موقعه يجيب على الأسئلة التي توجه إليه من الطلاب والعامة، شفوياً وخطياً احياناً. وقد تم نشر العديد من هذه الفتاوى والإجابات في العديد من المجلات والدوريات العربية والإسلامية، كما أنه قام بالمشاركة في مؤتمرات علمية وندوات فكرية، في البلدان العربية والإسلامية، معدّاً لذلك بحوثاً علمية حسب متطلبات المؤتمر أو الندوة. وقد جمع ما استطاع من تلك البحوث والفتاوى، ليقدمها للقارئ بهدف الإستفادة منها على نطاق عام، وذلك من خلال هذا الكتاب الذي تمّ تقسيمه إلى فصلين، تضم الفصل الأول منهما البحوث التي قدمها في مؤتمرات علمية مقسمة إلى مطالب مرتبة بحسب أبواب الفقه وجاءت في: العبادات، الأحوال الشخصية، الأوقاف، المعاملات، ثم في مواضيع أخرى متنوعة. أما الفصل الثاني فقد تضمن طائفة من الفتاوى الغزيرة المواضيع والأبواب.
