Book Description
إنجيل متّى أوّل الأناجيل ترتيباً كنسياً، هو أغنى الأناجيل، وأكثرها إستعمالاً في تنشئة الموعوظين، وأولاها بقراءة المؤمنين على ممرّ العصور.
يروي إنجيل متّى حياة يسوع، من الطفولة إلى القيامة، في سبع لوحات متتالية، متكاملة، متصاعدة، وكأنّها عمل مسرحيّ كبير في سبعة فصول، والموضوع واحد: يسوع الملك المخلّص الموعود.
في إنجيلّ متى، في كلّ فصل منه، فكرة رئيسية، وهي أنّ يسوع، بشخصه وتعليمه وعمله، هو إمتداد العهد القديم وإكمال له.
ويعتقد أن إنجيل متى قد كتب في سوريا، وربما في إنطاكيا، نظراً إلى أن القديس إغناطيوس يستهشد به في أوائل القرن الثاني، كما يرى البعض أنه كتب في فينيقيا.
تشكل المحاضرات التي ألقيت في المؤتمر البيبلي الثاني عشر الذي عقدته الرابطة الكتابية في الشرق الأوسط حول هذا الإنجيل إسهاماً في تسليط الضوء على مخزونه البيليّ واللاهوتي والخُلُقيّ والكنسيّ الثمين.
