باحث وناقد أدبي ومترجم، أستاذ الأدب الحديث في جامعة اليرموك- الأردن، حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة فريدريش فيلهلم- بون- ألمانيا عام 1986. وعمل أستاذاً زائراً في أكثر من جامعة أردنية وعربية.
أصدر عدداً من الدراسات من أبرزها: "الانتحار في الأدب العربي"، "باريس في الأدب العربي" و"دوائر المقارنة".وغيرها. كما أن له العديد من الكتب المترجمة عن الالمانية، نذكر منها: "يوميات فرانتس كافكا 1910-1923"، "آدم باحث وناقد أدبي ومترجم، أستاذ الأدب الحديث في جامعة اليرموك- الأردن، حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة فريدريش فيلهلم- بون- ألمانيا عام 1986. وعمل أستاذاً زائراً في أكثر من جامعة أردنية وعربية.

حائز على جائزة أفضل كتاب مترجم للعام الجامعي 2007 التي تمنحها جامعة فيلادلفيا الأردنية عن كتاب ما بعد اليوتوبيات.

يعتبر "يتيمة الدهر" من أشهر مؤلفات الثعالبي شهرة وتداولاً، كونه يقدم فيه ترجمة لكثير من الشعراء المعاصرين له أو السابقين لزمنه بقليل. وهذه الترجمة تختلف عما هو في كتب الطبقات؛ لأنه يجمع فيها كل جماعة من الشعراء حسب بلدهم أو أقليمهم أو البلاط الذي سلكهم في عداده، ومثال ذلك ما فعله بشعراء الشام، وشعراء مصر من حيث الأقاليم، وبشعراء دولة بني حمدان وبلاط سيف الدولة في حلب وبني بويه في بغداد وأصبهان.
