يحتوي الكتاب على تاريخ مفصل للنهضة الوطنية الشرقية، وفيه سيرة 19 ملكاً وأميراً مسلماً وبيان واف عن نشأتهم وطراز معيشتهم ودولهم ونظمها السياسية وعلاقتها الدولية وسط القضايا الشعوب. وقد فصل المؤلف في هذا الكتاب الأحداث التي ورث بها المنطقة الشرقية بعد الحرب العالمية 1918 حيث أفاض في الكلام عن مقدمات هذه الأحداث وأسبابها وما تلاها من تحول، وبسط نصيب كل شعب في هذا الكفاح والنضال متبعاً ذلك بمجموعة هامة من الوثائق السياسية والمعاهدات التي عقدت أو تبودلت في خلال هذه الفترة من تاريخ الشرق وعددها 137 معاهدة ووثيقة.
وفي الكتاب بيانات تاريخية عن حالة ثماني عشرة جولة وإمارة إسلامية، وهي مصر وتونس والمغرب الأقصى، تركيا والعراق وسوريا وشرق الأردن والسعودية واليمن ولحج وحيدر أباد (الهند) وأفغانستان وإيران والكويت والبحرين لكل ملك من ملوكها وأمير من أمرائها.
مع وصف شامل لأخلاقه ومبادئه وآرائه وميوله السياسية والاجتماعية والدينية وطراز معيشته. مسهباً في الكلام عن قضايا شعوب الشرق السياسية وعن قضايا شعوب الشرق السياسية وعن حركاتها الوطنية وعن مطالبها وأمانيها، متبعاً ذلك بما أجمعت عليه من مواثيق وطنية سعت لتنفيذها وتحقيقها، فجاء الكتاب سجلاً وافياً للنهضة الشرقية بعد الحرب العظمى، وسفراً جامعاً لأخبارها وحوادثها.
