تتفاوت الكتب والتصانيف في منازلها وأقدارها كما يتفاوت العلماء في منازلهم وأقدارهم، ثم إن لها حظوظاً كما أن للناس حظوظاً.
وإن من الكتب التي حظيت بالاهتمام والعناية، ولقيت القبول والرعاية، كتاب "الشفا بتعريف حقوق المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم"، للقاضي عياض بن موسى اليحصبي السبتي (ت544هـ)، الذي بين فيه مصنفه حقوق أشرف الخلق نبينا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم بأتم تحرير، وأحسن تقرير، حتى قال بعض العلماء إنه لو لم يكن لمصنفه من التصانيف سواه لكفى في علو مقداره، وسمو اشتهاره.
وقد أرشد إلى فضل كتاب الشفا وعظيم مكانته بين المصنفات في موضوعه حافظ الديار الشامية ومؤرخها في عصره، الإمام المتفنن شمس الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن أبي بكر الحموي القيسي الشهير بابن ناصر الدين (ت842هـ) في جزء لطيف، ومجلس طريف، صنفه بمناسبة انتهائه من إقراء كتاب الشفا، وهو هذا الجزء الذي أتشرف بتحقيقه وتقديمه إلى القراء اليوم.
وتتجلى أهمية هذا الجزء وقيمته العلمية في كونه يرسم لنا صورة شيقة وواضحة عن المكانة الشامخة العالية، والمنزلة الرفيعة السامية للقاضي عياض وكتابه الشفا، لا سيما وقد صاغه مصنفه بأسلوب عذب رائق، وتعبير جميل فائق، وصمنه نبذاً يسيراً من فضائل المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم وخصائصه.
كما يعتبر هذا الجزء بما حواه من فوائد نافعة، وقصائد ماتعة، تزكية عظيمة، وشهادة كبيرة من عالم مشرقي كبير في حق عالم المغرب بلا منازع: القاضي عياض وكتابه الشفا.
ومما ينبغي التنويه به هنا أن الحافظ ابن ناصر الدين الدمشقي يعد من أوائل الذين صنفوا في موضوع الختم.
