Book Description
يأتي "فيديليو" للعمل كمساعد لمراقب سجن قرب إشبيلية يدعى روكو، والذي سوف يحصل في مدة قصيرة على ثقته، فيطلب منه فرصة زيارة الزنازين تحت السجن ومرافقة سيجده في جولاته. يوافق روكو على طلبه، وهناك في الزنزانة يقبع فلورستان الذي كان صديقاً للوزير دون فرناندو. وكان من المرجح أن يأخذ مكان رئيس السجن، لذلك سُجن ظلماً. في هذه الأثناء يصل الوزير فرناندو للتفتيش، فيبدأ رئيس السجن بوضع خطة للتخلص من السجين. ويطلب من فيديليو مساعدته في حفر حفرة تكون قبراً لـ "فلورستان". تتوالى الأحداث في الرواية حتى نُفاجأ أن فيديليو ما هو إلا ليونور زوجة فلورستان جاءت السجن متنكرة بثياب رجل بحثاً عن زوجها المفقود لإنقاذه، ولكن ماذا ستفعل وقد طلب منها آمر السجن التخلص من زوجها ... وكيف ستنقذه وتنقذ نفسها من هذا المأزق؟ أحداث مشوّقة بانتظارنا، كلما توغلنا في قراءة الرواية ...
