فى هذا الكتاب باقة عطره من أروع أشعار ثلاثة شعراء الذين تربعوا على عرش الشعر الصينى وبلغوا قمة سامقة من التطور والازدهار الشعرى لم تعرفها الصين فى تاريخها العريق حتى يومنا هذا ، وهم : لى بان أعظم شاعر رومانتيكى فى الأدب الصينى وشبيه بالشاعر جون كيتس عند الأنجليز.
والشاعر دو فو أعظم شاعر واقعى فى الأدب الصينى وحامل لواء الشعر الصينى والأكثر عمقا وتألقا فى سمائه. أما الشاعر باى جيويى ير أغزر شعراء عصره وقدمت قصائده بانوراما كامله للعصر الذى عاش فيه ، وإذا كان لى باى هو "ملاك الشعر" ودو فو "قديس الشعر" فإن باى جيوى يى هو "درة تاج لشعر الصينى".
