ان مرحلة الطفولة هي فترة خصبة, فالطفل يكون لديه دوافع فطرية للبحث والتنقيب والتجريب ليكتشف ويدرك البيئة المحيطة به بمفهومه الخاص، ويكون التجريب وسيلته المفضلة في ذلك .
ويعد مجال التربية الفنية من أكثر المجالات اتساعا لممارسة الأسلوب التجريبي لثرائه بالخبرات التشكيلية التي تتعدد دلالتها ومعانيها حسب نوعية العلاقات التشكيلية .
كما نجد ان مرحلة رياض الأطفال من أخصب المراحل التي يستهويها التجريب، نظرا لطبيعة الطفل وولعه بالتساؤلات والتجريب والاكتشاف في هذه المرحلة، كما أن استخدام الطفل الخامات المتنوعة في التشكيل الفني يكسبه الكثير من الخبرات الوجدانية والمعرفية والحركية التي يحتاجها الطفل والتي يسهل عليه معرفتها من خلال التجريب, كما يساعده التجريب على اكتساب سلوك ابتكاري في المجال الفني وغيره من المجالات التي يتعرض لها الطفل في حياته, .لذا فمن واجبنا كآباء وقائمين على تربية الطفل، ان نتيح له الفرصة والبيئة المناسبة للبحث والتجريب ونوفر له الخامات المتنوعة, وندعمه ونستثمره فهو أغلى الثروات على وجه الأرض.
