هذه دعوة للفلسفة المثالية، لا هى إعادة إحياء لأنها فلسفة لم تتوقف، ولا هى دراسة عابرة لأننا مقتنعون بها، وإنما هى كشف لبيان ثرائها وقوتها ووجاهتها.
هذى دعوة للمثالية فى عصر تقلص فيه دور القدوة، وبررت الوسائل للغايات، وخفت ضوء الفكر المستنير والبحث الصادق عن الحقيقة، وغلب التوجه للمادة الدنيا والنظرة السطحية والساذجة الفكرية.
لقد ساد اعتقاد أن الفلسفة المثالية قد انتهت بظهور الاتجاه التجريبى المعاصر فى أوائل القرن العشرين فى بريطانيا وبلاد العالم الجديد. ولكن هذا الاعتقاد غير صحيح تماماً والدليل أن سيل الدراسات فى مثاليات برادلى وبوزانكيت وماكتجارت وتوماس هل جرين وغيرهم لم تنقطع حتى فى موطن الفلسفة التجريبية أى فى كل محافل بريطانيا الفلسفية.
وأخيراً هذه الدعوة للفلسفة المثالية ترتكز على اساس يتحدد فى هذا السؤال: لماذا لازالت الفلسفة المثالية باقية متمثلة فى الدراسات المستمرة لها؟ والإجباة واضحة وهى أن الفلسفة المثالية فلسفة وجيهة محترمة.
