في الصفحات التالية حاول المؤلف أن يبني تفسيراً للتاريخ من خلال القرآن الكريم، وكما يتضح لكل دارس لكتاب الله أن القرآن الكريم ليس كتاب تاريخ ولا سرداً لوقائعه مع أنه حوى بعض التعليقات على أحداث تتعلق بتلك الفترة من الزمن حين كان رسول الإسلام يبشر برسالته بين عرب الجزيرة، ويعمل من أجل جمعهم تحت قانون واحد وحكومة واحدة، من أجل تحقيق هذا الغرض حمل الرسول السلاح ضد أولئك الذين حاولوا الخروج على القانون وعلى الحكومة التي أقامها الرسول في المدينة.
والقرآن لا يبحث في تاريخ تلك الحروب التي اضطر الرسول إلى شنها لكنه يعلق على طبيعة الصراع والنتائج المترتبة عليه، وبصورة مشابهة أثناء الفترة المكية حين كالن عاجزاً عن مواجهة أعدائه، ويحاول هدايتهم بالحسنى، وخلال تلك الفترة أشار القرآن الكريم إلى الصعوبات ذاتها التي جابهت الرسل والأنبياء الذين خلوا والمصير الذي لاقاه أولئك الذين رفضوا بإصرار الانصياع إليهم واتباع دعوتهم في القرون التي خلت، وفي هذا الخصوص يعلق القرآن على العادات الأخلاقية ومواقف الأمم القديمة، وكل هذه التعليقات التي صاغها القرآن تظافرت وصنعت صورة كاملة وقدمت لنا رؤية واضحة حول طبيعة العملية التاريخية وكما أوضح القرآن من خلال وجهة نظره الدينية الأخلاقية، ولم يفعل المؤلف أكثر من أنه رتب هذه التعليقات والملاحظات القرآنية عن نظر بعض المفسرين الثقاة في تفسير القرآن الكريم وشرحه، وإلى جانب هذا فإن محاولة أخرى ضمنها الفصل الأخير وهي عبارة عن دراسة مقارنة للمفهوم القرآني للتاريخ مع بعض الفلسفيات الحديثة للتاريخ، أما مدى توفيق المؤلف في هذه المحاولة فهو متروك لحكم القارئ.
