هذا كتاب من كتب الفقه الشافعي، وهو حاشية على "متن الزبد" للإمام والفقيه ابن رسلان، لخّص فيها "زبد العلامة البارزي"، وشفعها بمقدمة في أصول الدين، وخاتمة في علم التصوف. ولما اكتسب متن الزبد ذيوعاً في العالم الإسلامي، وأقبل على حفظه طلبة العلم؛ لما يحويه من درر فقهية، ومهمات شرعية، وسلاسة في العبارة، وجودة في الإشارة، وحسن سبك.. تتابعت همم علماء الفقه على شرح نصوصها وكشف خفاياها، وإماطة اللثام عن مزاياها، فشرحها كثيرون، ومنهم العلامة محمد بن أحمد عبد الباري الأهدل، فقد وضع عليها حاشية تقرر مسائلها، وتوضح نصوصها، وتكشف عن غامضها.
ولما كانت هذه الحاشية تتميز بخصائص مرغوبة، ومزايا مطلوبة.. فقد اعتنى محمد شادي مصطفى عربش بتحقيقها والتعليق عليها؛ ذلك لأن "الإفادة" هي حاشية كاسمها "إفادة" تفيد الطالب، وتقرب له المباحث، وتنتقي من الأقوال معتمدها، ومن الألفاظ أخصرها وأسهلها، ومن الطرق أفربها، نأت عن الحشو، وحادت عن التطويل، واصطفى صحيح الأقوال، وترك القيل والقال، بل إنه يوجد فيها من المسائل المهمة أحياناً ما تنفرد به عن بقية الشروح. ومن الجدير بالذكر أنه قد حلّى مقدمة هذا الكتاب بترجمة موجزة للشيخ علي بن عمر الأهدل، الجد الجامع للسادة الأهادلة، إضافة الى تراجم أعلام المراوعة. كما قام مكتب الدراسات والبحث العلمي بتحقيق "الحاشية" تحقيقاً علمياً وطبعها طبعاً فنياً، ووضع المتن مشكّلاً ضمن إطار فني جميل.
