السلفي (478 - 576 هـ = 1085 - 1180 م)
أحمد بن محمد بن سِلَفَه (بكسر السين وفتح اللام) الأصبهاني، صدر الدين، أبو طاهر السلفي
حافظ مكثر، من أهل أصبهان. رحل في طلب الحديث، وكتب تعاليق وأمالي كثيرة، وبنى له الأمير العادل (وزير الظافر العبيدي) مدرسة في الإسكندرية، سنة 546 هـ، فأقام إلى أن توفي فيها.
له:
• (معجم مشيخة أصبهان)
• (معجم شيوخ بغداد - خ)
• (معجم السفر - خ) نشرت منه نسخة كثيرة النقص باسم (أخبار وتراجم أندلسية) [طُبع]
• (الفضائل الباهرة في مصر والقاهرة - خ) في الخزانة الحميدية بالآستانة، الرقم (363 تاريخ) كما في (المختار من المخطوطات العربية في الآستانة، ص 50 وفي خزانة الرباط (1046 د) رسالة في ترجمته.
وللمعاصر محمد محمود زيتون، الإسكندري، كتاب (الحافظ السلفي أشهر علماء الزمان - ط) في سيرته.

أخترت في هذا المجموع ستة أجزاء لم تطبع من قبل-علي حد بحثي تشتمل علي هذه الأنواع، وهي كما يلي:
أولا:ما يمثل الفوائد: "فوائد حسان" لأبي طاهر السلفي.
ثانيا:ما يمثل الأحاديث المنتخبة:"جزء فيه أحاديث منتخبة من أجزاء الشيخ أبي منصور الخوجاني،انتخاب أبي طاهر السلفي"
ثالثا:ما يمثل الأمالي:"مجلس من أمالي الإمام الحافظ أبي نصر الغازي"
رابعا:ما يمثل الأجزاء:"جزء فيه حديث ابن ديزيل"وطجزء فيه أحاديث ابي حامد بن بلال النيسابوري"
خامسا:ما جمع بين الفوائد والانتخاب:"الجزء فيه فوائد أبي القاسم الحرفي انتخاب أبي القاسم هبة الله بن الحسن الطبري"
