يُعدّ حقل التربية الإسلامية من الحقول التطبيقية للمنهجية الإسلامية ولمقوماتها الحضارية، هذا الحقل التطبيقي تتمثل فيه نواتج المقاصد القرآنية والنبوية في سعيها لبناء الذات وتحقيق مفهوم الجماعة والأمة.
إذ تتجلى فيها التصورات النظرية التي أرادها الله تعالى من وراء الوحي المنزل والرسول المرسل أن تكون الشاهد على مقاصد البعثة وغايات خطاب الوحي؛ الذي بدأ بكلمة "إقرأ"، وجعل ركيزة شغل الرسالة النبوية تتمثل في التعليم والتلاوة والتزكية، وهو ما عمل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على تحقيقه بصورة كاملة وواقعية صادقة تمثلت بجيل الصحابة الذين ظهرت فيه قيم العلم النافع وحقائق السلوك السّوي، على مستوى الذات وعلى مستوى الجماعة والأمة وعلى مستوى المجتمع والدولة.
من هنا، فإن حقل التربية الإسلامية يعدّ الميدان الأول الذي تتحرك فيه نظريات الإسلام، وتتفاعل فيه مفاهيمه، وتختبر فيه النفس الإنسانية لمعرفة مدى صدقها في تطبيق تكاليف الوحي وتَمَثَلِ قيمه فكراً وسلوكاً.
وهذا الكتاب الذي جاء بعد بذل مجهود كبير، والقيام بعمليات دؤوبة من البحث والتأمل والتطوير والكتابة دامت لأكثر من خمس سنوات، يشكل حلقةً مهمةً من حلقات التجديد التربوي الإسلامي في مجال بناء "علم أصول التربية الإسلامية".
