لهذه السلسلة القصصية الشيقة "شوشو النشيط" أهمية خاصة إذ تركز في حكايتها الممتعة على الأسس الأخلاقية التي يجب أن يتحلى بها الأطفال، وعلى المبادئ التربوية التي يجب أن يربى عليها من قبل عائلته، وهدفها مساعدة الأهل على تعليم الطفل لهذه المبادئ ولكن بأسلوب يختلف عن أساليب الوالدين، إذ أنها تركز على تلقين الطفل لهذه المبادئ من خلال ضرب أمثلة عن حيوانات أليفة اتخذتها المؤلفة أنموذجاً معبراً عن حياة الطفل سواءً في المدرسة وحبه لها أم في المنزل وعلاقته مع أهله، أم في المجتمع وعلاقاته بأفراده.
"شوشو في محطة البنزين" هي إحدى قصص هذه السلسلة وفيها تركز المؤلفة على تعليم الطفل أن العمل هو حياة الإنسان وأنه يجب مزاولته في أوقات الفراغ وذلك حتى لا يضيع الإنسان وقته دون أن يحقق أي شيء. وشوشو الكلب في هذه القصة هو الأداة التعليمية التي اتخذتها المؤلفة رمزاً لما تريد أن توصله إلى القارئ الصغير من أفكار. هذا وقد زينت المؤلفة قصتها بالرسوم الملونة البسيطة والطريفة المناسبة القريبة من بيئة الطفل العربي.
