تقوم هذه الدراسة على بيان مفهوم الأصولية بصورة عامة ودلالات هذا المصطلح، والبدايات الأولى لظهور الأصولية في العالم، وتركِّز على تحليل النشأة المبكرة للأصولية اليهودية، وأسسها داخل منظومة المعتقدات اليهودية ونصوصها الدينية من الكتب المقدسة كالتوراة والتلمود، وأثر ذلك كله على خلق الميول المتطرفة في الفكر اليهودي.
كما ستتعرض إلى تحليل النصوص الدينية التي منحت النزعة الأصولية اليهودية أسسها العامة، والتي نتلمس وجودها في الأصوليات الأخرى التي نشأت في الديانات الإبراهيمية التالية عليها، كما سنتولى دراسة التيارات والحركات التي نشأت عن الأصولية اليهودية وهي الفاعلة داخل المجتمعات اليهودية في مناطق تواجدهم في العالم والتي تؤمن بأن الأصول هي الحقيقة التامة والمطلقة، وأن الدفاع عنها والإلتزام بفرضها على الغير واجب إلهي، وتؤمن بطريقة تغييرية شاملة للمجتمعات وبالوسائل كافة.
وقد أسهمت هذه التيارات بريم صورة أخرى لليهودية ومشروعها الديني والسياسي، وتشكيل مشهد فكري جديد للديانة الموسوية.
