لعل من أولى مهام النقد الحديث تركيزه على النص ودراسته وسبر أغواره لا على صعيد النص بحد ذاته، بل على صعيد الإهتمام بالمرجعيات والإضاءات الخارجية لفهم ذلك النص، وإن اختلفت الكيفيات والأشكال والمستويات في ذلك التوظيف الفني لتلك المرجعيات سبرا لاغوار النص طالما أنه من أبرز المفاهيم النقدية التي يصعب تحديدها وتأثيرها نظراً لتعدد المعاني والدلالات التي يفرزها وتبعاً لإختلاف المناهج التي تدرس ذلك النص وينطبع بها لذا غدا فضاءً خصباً تلتقي فيه كل التوجهات لإغناء الخطاب المعرفي.
ولذلك، اهتم هذا البحث بالتناص بوصفه من الآليات النقدية الناجعة في دراسة النص، ولا سيما الشعري فكان تطبيقه على ديوان أنشودة المطر للشاعر بدر شاكر السياب وما يحمله من دلالات مرجعية.
فمعلوم أن التناص هو تشكيل نص من نصوص أخرى سابقة أو معاصرة له عن طريق الإمتصاص والتحويل، وهو واحد من أهم معايير تحقيق نصية أي نص، ومعلوم أنه لا يوجد نص يخلو من التناص البتة إلا القرآن الكريم وكلام آدم (عليه السلام).
لذا، فإن أهمية الموضوع تتضح من هذه النقطة وللتناص دور مهم في كشف مغاليق النصوص وذلك من خلال تهيئ فهم أعمق لمضامين تلك النصوص عبر كشف مرجعياتها المتنوعة، ولعل أهم ثورة أحدثها في عالم النقد تحويل الإتجاه من التركيز على المؤلف بوصفه منتخا للنص ثم دراسة النص بحد ذاته دراسة بنيوية مغلقة إلى التركيز على دور المتلقي وثقافته في فهم ذلك النص ومرجعياته عبر الإنفتاح على فاعلية التأويل الملقاة على عاتق ذلك القارئ المثقف الذي لا تقل عن ثقافة المنتج.
وكان التركيز على السياب ودراسة التناص في شعره لما يزخر به من تناصات ذات مرجعيات متعددة، فقد استلهم تراث امته استلهاماً واسعاً ولم يقتصر على هذا الجانب إذ نرصد في شعره تناصات مع الموروث العالمي بكل ما حوى من معطيات مما يدل على سعة ثقافة الشاعر الكونية، وقد قام بإمتصاص وتحويل هذه المعطيات إذ لا يكاد يخلو نص من نصوص السياب من هذه المعطيات الثرة، وقد تنوعت المرجعيات في النص السيابي بين الديني، والأسطوري، والأدبي تبعاً للمنطلقات الفكرية والثقافية المؤثرة في شخصية السياب "الموسوعية" وهضمه لروائع الأدب العربي والغربي وإطلاعه على الأساطير والموروث الديني.
