إن رحلة العمر رحلة إيمانية غامرة بالعطاء وأجمل عطاء يقدمه الإنسان في حياته هو عطاءه لوالديه الذين تحملوا من أجله الكثير كي يسعد ويحيا. والكتاب "مكان في الجنة" إنما هو تأملات في ذلك الحب الذي هو رمز للرحمة والحنان، ومن ذلك البرّ الذي يجعل أسمى المعاني الإنسانية الذي يجب أن يقدمه كل ابن وابنة إلى والديه. يرتكز محور الكتاب الرئيسي على أن من يبرّ والديه ويكرمهما ويسلك طريق الرحمة بهما طاعة لأمر الله عزّ وجل واستجابة لتوصية رسوله الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم سيفوز برضاء الله وينال مكان في الجنة.
فكان لا بد من تعرض الكاتبة إلى وصف الجنة كما جاء في القرآن الكريم وصفات أهل الجنة والطريق إليهما، والأسباب التي تعين على برّ الوالدين لعلها تكون عوناً للمسلم في طريق البرّ والخير مع طرح نماذج من برّ الأبناء للآباء والأمهات ومكانة الأم في القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية الشريفة.
هذا وإن ما يحدث من أحداث وجرائم وعقوق للوالدين دفع المؤلفة للوقوف عند ظاهرة العقوق التي انتشرت في الآونة الأخيرة حيث عرضت نماذج حيّة من نبض الحياة عن عقوق الوالدين لعلها تكون عبرة وعظة لمن تسوّل له نفسه آذاهما، كما وألقت الضوء على دور الدولة لحماية المسنين من أيدي الأبناء القاسية ثم بينت كيفية محاربة الانحراف والتقليل من ظاهرة عقوق الوالدين.
