يعرض المؤلف في هذا الكتاب الذي أسماه "في منهجية الاقتداء"، لبعض المفهومات في مجال التأسي والاتباع، من حياة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في مراحلها المتعددة من القوة والضعف، والدعوة والدولة، والجيل المشهود له بالخيرية... كما يعرض فيه لبعض محاولات العبث بالنصوص الشرعية والخروج عن المرجعية ومنهجية الاتباع لحيز القرون، وإقامة مؤتمرات الحوار وغيرها لرد المسلمين عن دينهم.
كما ويعرض أيضاً لبعض النماذج من رواد الإصلاح وتجديد التدين، ومحاولة المساهمة بإعادة التفاعل بين الإنسان والإسلام، وإثارة التفكير باختيار مواقع الاقتداء من خلال السيرة الأنموذج، التي عرضت لكل الحالات التي قد تعرض للبشر في حياتهم الطويلة الممتدة، بعيداً عن تقطيع الصورة الكلية أو الانتقاء منها أو تبعيضها، ذلك أن الاقتداء يبدأ من عند الحالة التي عليها الإنسان، ويرتقي بحسب الاستطاعات، فكل إنسان يعتبر مقتدياً متبعاً بحسب استطاعته، ولو فاته إنجاز بعض ما لا يستطيع، لأنه غير مكلف به.
